鉻和鐵組成的合金,是煉鋼的重要合金添加劑。
鉻鐵按不同含碳量分為:高碳鉻鐵(含碳為4.0%-8.0%)、中碳鉻鐵(含碳為0.5%-0.4%)、低碳鉻鐵(含碳為0.15-0.5%)、微碳鉻鐵(含碳為0.06%)、超微碳鉻鐵(含碳小于0.03%)、金屬鉻、硅鉻合金。
鉻鐵在煉鋼中作為主要的合金添加劑,冶煉不銹鋼等低碳鋼種必須使用低微碳鉻鐵。
